An excellent collection of short stories from a Bulgarian-Austrian writer, focused on encounters and experiences of characters with a range of backgrounds. Especially interesting for exploring the representation of migration to Austria, and the experience of migrants from Eastern and Southeastern Europe to the German-speaking world. His writing is also interesting for his take on underprivileged, marginalised and migrant masculinities in Austria. Dinev’s writing is accessible and his stories short, for the most part, but his dense imagery lends itself to close reading and training detailed analysis.
